Canvas features

Canvas features are located in interactive panels and controls in the bottom right of the Recraft interface.

History, favorites, and community panel

Accessed via the right-side panel at the bottom, this section offers visual browsing of past and saved work:
  • History tab: Shows all generated images in your account. You can search by prompt or filter by output type (e.g., vector, photorealism, icon). Uploads and edits (e.g., background removal, fine-tune) do not appear here. To learn more, go to History.
  • Favorites tab: Contains images you’ve added to Favorites.
  • Community tab: Displays a curated feed of Recraft-generated images.
Note: To add any History, Favorites, or Community image to your canvas, you can click it to drag it directly from the panel.

Help panel

Clicking the Help tab opens the Help panel, which contains three sub-tabs:
  1. Learn: A collection of short video tutorials demonstrating key features. Videos are embedded for instant playback.
  2. Shortcuts: A comprehensive list of keyboard shortcuts for faster navigation, canvas actions, and editing operations.
  3. Help: Links to support and community resources, including:
    • Submit a bug report or request a feature (redirects to Canny)
    • Contact Recraft support
    • Follow Recraft on YouTube, Discord, X (formerly Twitter), and Instagram

Zoom level

Displays the current zoom as a percentage. Type a custom zoom level here. Click on the percentage for quick access to other zoom options: Zoom in, Zoom out, Zoom to 50%, Zoom to 100%, Zoom to 200%, Zoom to fit project (shows all images on canvas), Zoom to tit to selection (zooms in precisely on one or more selected items)

Undo and redo controls

  • Undo: Reverts the last action performed on the canvas.
  • Redo: Reapplies the most recently undone action.

Layers

The Layers tab, accessible from the bottom right control panel, shows all images currently present on the canvas. It is primarily a navigation tool, where each entry in the panel corresponds to an image layer. Layers provide an alternate way to select that image on the canvas, and is particularly helpful when working in dense layouts or when you’ve lost track of an image’s position. Clicking a layer selects the corresponding image on canvas. You can hide individual layers using the eye icon. This is helpful for temporarily hiding large or resource-heavy images while working on other parts of the project. Hidden layers can be re-enabled as needed. Notes about layers:
  • Only image elements appear. Text and frames do not.
  • You cannot rename, reorder, or duplicate layers.
  • Layers have no hierarchy support; items are listed in flat order only.

Favorites

There are two ways to favorite an image:
  • Go to the History page and click the heart icon on any image
  • Right click on an image in the canvas and select Add to Favorites.
Favorited images are saved in your Favorites tab for easy access and reuse. You can also copy a favorited image directly onto your canvas:
  1. From within a project, click on the history icon in the bottom right toolbar.
  2. A Gallery panel will open. Select the Favorites tab.
  3. Locate the image you want to re-import and drag or click on it. A copy of the image will be placed on your current canvas.
